Partnering with the YouYou Group in the Shanghai region, we led the development and optimization of a large-scale, mixed horticultural and agricultural operation consisting of:
- 20 ha of semi-closed greenhouses (vegetables & propagation)
- 24 ha of fruit production in foil greenhouses
- 46 ha of rice fields
Our responsibilities included full production and organizational management of the greenhouse operations. Jolanda led the labor systems and SOP quality implementation.
Key Achievements:
- Introduced the Ridder labor registration system, enabling accurate performance tracking and realistic labor budgeting.
- Developed and implemented a full suite of Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistency across all crops.
- Conducted plant registration across all crop types, enabling reliable growing budgets and cycle optimization.
- Improved productivity and disease resistance through varietal selection in cucumbers and tomatoes.
- Ran a full season of pepper production using Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
- Enhanced lettuce cultivation through standardized growth phases, optimized watering/climate strategies and a standardized maintenance program.
- Delivered comprehensive training programs for local management and growing team, covering planning, budgeting, pest management, feeding, Recipe calculations, and climate control.
- Produced investment analyses to guide greenhouse improvements during harsh summer conditions.
- Presented detailed reports to demonstrate results on planning and realization.
Through hands-on leadership and knowledge transfer, we helped professionalize operations and empower local teams to sustain high-quality production with minimal energy input.
